Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 souls, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, bound for London Gatwick. This incident marks the first fatal hull loss of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner since its introduction in 2011, sending shockwaves across India and around the world. What Happened? The aircraft departed Ahmedabad at approximately 1:38 PM IST. Minutes later, while climbing through just over 600 feet, the plane lost contact with air traffic control.
